Kiwanis Club Baby Sitting Course

Our Babysitting course has been educating the babysitters in Brandon for over 20 years. Our program is offered twice a year in the spring and fall. We are grateful to the Kiwanis Club for providing funding, thus, ensuring there is no cost to attend.

 

Class dates are dependent on enrollment and availability of the instructors. In the past, we have offered classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The course runs for five weeks with classes in the evenings from 7:00 to 8:30. All classes take place in the Training Room at the #1 Fire Hall, 120 – 19th Street North.

 

Each week the students are introduced to new related information including:

  • Fire Prevention/Fire Safety
  • 911 Information
  • Basic First Aid
  • Child Behaviour/Play Activities
  • Basic Child Care

 

Requirements:

  • must be 12 years old or older by the course graduation date
  • must have an interest in babysitting
